Contour Drawing: Modified
Contour drawing describes the interior and exterior linear qualities of a subject. In this assignment, we were to examine a book bag using the flow of the pen to show volume. This drawing is called a "modified" contour drawing, meaning that I was able to look at the subject while drawing on the paper, still keeping it at a limit to one line, not being able to pick the pen up. This was a challenge for me, because I do have trouble 'loosening' my arm and letting the pen flow when I draw. But overall, I really enjoyed this assignment and learned to show volume without shading.
