A gesture drawing is a quick drawing that basically captures the necessary gestures in a subject. The class practiced this skill using charcoal and ink. I chose my worse drawing (top) and compared it to my best (bottom). I chose these to drawings, because it shows my progress with the control I have with the material that we use. To me, it was a challenge doing a quick sketch and having my arm loose without being sloppy. The top drawing, my worse drawing, was one of the first few I drew while getting the hang of gesture drawing. I soon was starting to get the jiff of it, with controlling my medium, and soon was developing drawings as the one shown in the bottom. Though is is not the best that I can do, it is one that is a great representation of my progress, and I hope to practice further with this technique.
